Running on Empty: 18,000 Miles down Africa with Parkinson's

Cure Parkinson’s ambassador and retired army Colonel Guy Deacon has lived with Parkinson’s for over 10 years. In 2023, he completed the incredible feat of driving 18,000 miles solo from his home in the UK, through 25 countries in Africa to spotlight the issues associated with Parkinson’s in the continent. Along the way, he broke down five times, underwent one emergency evacuation, and took 3,650 prescription pills. Guy’s mission: to fulfil a childhood dream of driving the length of Africa, and to raise global awareness of Parkinson’s and the need for a cure. Read about his extraordinary adventures in Running on Empty, available to pre-order now.
